Saffron Mead
Part I Architectural Assistant
Saffron joined Footprint Architects in September 2022 after graduating with a Part 1 Architecture degree from the University of Portsmouth. During which she enjoyed experimenting with various methods of visual representation through physical model making, hand sketching and digital illustration.
Her recent major project focused on reversing the decay of Portsmouth city centre through the re-imagination of our living, working and social spaces. Saffron became interested in ideas and theories relating to social and environmental sustainability. Applying these to a design proposal for a hybrid building which aimed to unite a diverse community and encourage regeneration of the city centre.
When not at her desk, Saffron takes every opportunity to be outside exploring on long walks, finding creative inspiration within urban and rural landscapes.
