New Forest, Hampshire
Winner of the New Forest National Park Design Award 2019 for Conservation
Concept Architect McLean Quilan
A farmhouse refurbishment, barn conversion and a linking extension to a Grade II Listed house in the New Forest.
The existing grade II listed farmhouse was carefully restored with traditional materials and a new contemporary and contextual extension building was added to form a delicately detailed connection to an original barn outbuilding. The barn was converted to create a striking new kitchen for this family home.
The barn conversion was fully insulated and sympathetically detailed using a mix of modern and traditional materials, techniques and craftsmanship.
The project was awarded the New Forest National Park Design Award 2019 for conservation.
