Footprint Architects were appointed in 2013 by Gardiner and Theobald to act as technical advisor’s for Redbridges’s school expansion programme. The school projects within the programme consisted of:

7 kings primary school – a new build 840 place school on a constrained formal council depot site.
Oaks Park High School – a 2 form of entry expansion to a secondary school consisting of a new performing arts and general teaching block with a 6th form provision.
Woodbridge High school – a 2 form of entry expansion to a 1600 place secondary school consisting of performing arts, music, art and general teaching block.
Ilford County High School for boys is a 2 form of entry expansion consisting of a new science and technology block as well as a 6th from provision.
Woodford County High School for girls – a new build block to enable a 2 form entry expansion to this 1930’s school consisting of a 6th form provision, science and general teaching rooms.
Al Noor Primary school – a new build 2 form entry primary school.
Initially we were appointed to develop control options and finalise briefs for each of the sites across the framework and seek outline planning consent for 7 Kings primary school which was the sample scheme to be worked up in competition by the contractor design teams as part of the Invitation to Tender process. We were involved in the competitive dialogue and evaluation of the tender return proposals.

On appointment of the preferred bidder we worked with the technical advisor team to review the Contractor’s Proposals for each scheme and completed site inspections and compliance checks throughout the construction works. All schemes have been completed on site with Al Noor Primary school to be completed in May 2018.
