The construction industry produces a large proportion of the worlds greenhouse gas emissions. As architects we have a responsibility, and a great opportunity, to reduce them.

We advocate implementing the simplest low energy, passive design decisions, as the baseline in order that energy consumption and carbon emissions are reduced.

Passivhaus (or Passive House) is an highly effective energy and comfort standard for new buildings. Passive house buildings use lots of insulation, fresh air, natural daylight and the sun to create high performing buildings that support wellbeing, all year round.
